Team Tuckley Racing

Motor_Engineers3

Adrian and Simon Tuckley have both competed in the Mighty Minis Racing Championship for several seasons, they had a year of something different in 2013 racing with the Blue Oval Saloon Series (BOSS) to race Fiesta XR2s. The BOSS championship is part of the Classic Touring Car Racing Club (CTCRC) run by the British Automobile Racing Club (BARC). Adrian had a difficult year in the Fiesta with some good and some bad results, but the best being a class D win at Silverstone at the last meeting of the season.

About Mighty Minis Racing

The Mighty Minis all run the same 1.3 SPi (single point injection) engines which are unmodified apart from a high flow K+N air filter and a Maniflow exhaust system. Other modifications made to the cars to bring them up to race spec include a full Safety Devices roll cage, plumbed-in fire extinguisher system, FIA approved race seat and harnesses. Other improvements allowed include a light weight aluminium fuel tank, brake bias valve, gear shift light, personal lap time recorder and a 14" interior mirror which helps with rear visibility.

On the mechanical side steering, suspension and brakes can be upgraded from standard. All the cars run GAZ adjustable dampers and Hi-Lo's, however adjustable rear track/camber brackets and front tie bars are optional depending on budget. Front brake pads and brake fluid can be uprated but all other braking parts must be standard items.

The regulations are fairly strict, so to get the best from the car you really need to upgrade everything thats allowed. The great thing about keeping the regulations strict is that the cars are very evenly matched which results in some very close and exciting racing!
